This panorama of Bryant-Denny Stadium highlights the annual football rivalry between the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn Tigers, known as the Iron Bowl. The University of Alabama has undoubtedly one of the game's greatest football programs. Dating back to 1926, they were the first Southern team to win the Rose Bowl and, today, they claim the most national championships in the country. Coached by the legendary Paul "Bear" Bryant for 25 years, in 2007 the Crimson Tide's good fortune continued when Nick Saban took the helm and has had a run of multiple and consecutive national titles. For at least seven Saturdays each year, Alabama football becomes the center of the universe, consisting of equal parts of war on the field and worship service. It's a powerful engine for the university's economic and academic growth.
