Rutgers University - High Point Solutions Stadium

This panorama, taken by James Blakeway, captures the action of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team playing their first game in the Big Ten Conference in front of a record crowd of 53,774. Rutgers is considered the Birthplace of College Football, after Rutgers and Princeton played the first intercollegiate football game in 1869. Rutgers won 6-4. The original stadium opened in 1938. The current stadium was built in 1993 on the same site, with a seating capacity of 41,500. In 2009, seating capacity was increased to 52,454. Rutgers University was established in 1766 as Queens College, is the largest university in New Jersey and is the eighth-oldest college in the United States.
